How to Set Up Network Drives on a Mac

Summary

Setting up various network drives (including G: and H:) on a Mac.

Body

  1. Click the Finder icon in the dock.

 

               

 

  1. Click the Go menu and select Connect to Server or press Command K on your keyboard.

 

             

 

 

  1. In the Server Address field, type the address for the drive that you’d like to map.

 

  • G: drive (Employees) is smb://files.oxynet.oxy.edu/accounts/your_Oxy_username (replace your_Oxy_username with your username).

  • S: drive (Students & Faculty - Academic shared drive)
    smb://files.oxynet.oxy.edu/acadshared

  • H and I drives (Employees Only)  are smb://files.oxynet.oxy.edu/depts 

  • The Shared directory on I drive is smb://files.oxynet.oxy.edu/depts/shared

  • oxy.sites.edu: smb://websrv2/sites

         

  1. Click on the  + symbol to the right of the address that you’ve entered to save it as a favorite.

  2. Click on the Connect button and enter your Oxy username and password if prompted.

  3. A Finder window will open, connect to the network drive, and allow you to navigate to the folder
