Printing on a Personal Linux Device

Solved by: Liv Gilbert-Adler

Using Oxy printers on Linux is simple.

Requires: CUPS

Simply run the following command, replacing oxyUsername and oxyPassword with their appropriate values:

sudo lpadmin -p students -E -v ipps://oxyUsername:oxyPassword@134.69.3.29:9164/printers/Students -m drv:///sample.drv/generic.ppd

The printer should now appear in your printer list. You can use this instructional page as a test print.

Once you submit the print, you must release it from the printer by tapping your card on the printer's card reader.

Please note it is possible for the IP address to change in the future. ITS has limited abilities to support personal Linux devices.
